Time was hard to tell when they were shifting through dimensions, but the thirty-second span of time in which Ryoga paused as he passed her to squeeze her shoulder and smile and tell her “Thank you for kicking Yuma’s ass back into gear” was probably the most memorable of it all.
As Kotori went back to her seat in front of one of the airships consoles, she smiled. It was the first time in a long time that someone had actually recognized her beyond her non-duelist status as helpful. In their world, duelling was the key to everything. There was nothing you couldn’t do if you duelled in Heartland City. But Kotori had always chosen not to.
Finally she was getting a little recognition for being on the sidelines and never losing faith like the rest of them did. The rest of their Numbers Club gave up so easily on Yuma, but she refused. She knew he always had it in him. All he needed was a good hard kick once in a while as a reminder.
Summary: Kotori’s a budding therapist with her first official patient, but as the sessions go on, she’s not sure she can really truly help him. Willshipping.
