my dad always gets me to make cards for mum whenever holidays come around, like Mother’s Day and Valentines Day and her birthday…
and my mum keeps all the cards I make in a special box because she cherishes them despite being made of cheap coloured construction paper and littered with markers. They’re fancy as fuck, if you’re an 8-year-old. I’m 19. You can tell how much effort I put in.
I always make a point of doing a “Hallmark” message inside. In other words, I search up “________ quotes” on Google and find the cheesiest, most cliche lines to put inside in fancy black pen or an appropriately coloured marker.
I like to call this my ironic quota, because this is the majority of my yearly irony.
