i love this opening so much but i never understood this part
I’m gonna go out on a limb and analyze this:
white flowers could be seen as a symbol for innocence, and since Ed is hitting them with the arm he lost due to committing a taboo, it could signify the loss of his innocence. This can go further back too, since all the events that occurred after having tried to transmute his mum back to life have led him further into a web of sin (like the deaths needed to make the Philosopher’s Stone, not to mention the Seven Deadly Sins that the original Homunculus separated from himself). And he’s angry at himself for getting himself into this… maybe.
so the white flower therefore could be a symbol of innocence.
